A big hit when launched in 2001, Chrysler’s PT Cruiser was part of the nostalgia all-stars, including Volkswagen’s New Beetle, the new Mini Cooper and Chevrolet’s Heritage High Roof (HHR).
Made in October 2000 in Chrysler’s Toluca, Mexico assembly plant, this example was delivered to McGregor Motor Co., Inc. in Indiana, Pennsylvania. The original owner only put 8,880 actual miles on this PT cruiser and was very well cared for.
It is dressed in Aquamarine Metallic exterior. The car’s paint and trim are in excellent overall condition, the original body is straight and solid, the engine bay is extremely tidy, the cargo area looks great and the car’s body-colored bumpers fit well to the body. Note that the rear door handles have been shaved away.
This car rolls on BFGoodrich g-force TA radials, size 225/45ZR17 at every corner. Each tire is mounted to a Boyd Coddington Smoothi II alloy wheel. The tires and wheels are all in very good condition.
Under the hood is a 2.4L DOHC 16-valve four-cylinder (code EDZ). The motor is backed by a Getrag 288 five-speed manual transmission. Driver convenience features include air-conditioning, power sunroof, cruise control, power steering, power disc/drum brakes, power locks, keyless entry, power and heated sideview mirrors.
Safety equipment includes dual front airbags, anti-lock brakes, side airbags and traction control.
Inside, there is a Taupe Pealr and Beige leather and suede interior. From the front buckets to the rear bench, the carpet, the headliner, the four-spoke steering wheel, instrument panel, inner door liners, all the way down to the center console and shifter – they are all in very good condition. A Kenwood AM/FM stereo completes the interior.
