An exceptional, fine and impressive antique 1820s 12K Yellow Gold and carnelian vinaigrette; an addition to our collection of silver boxes and cases
Description
This exceptional, fine and impressive antique 12K Yellow Gold vinaigrette has acylindrical form.
The surface of the sides, base and cover of this impressive antique vinaigrette are encompassed with concentric bands of tooled decoration, accented with punched circular motifs.
The underside of the antique box features an impressive chased tiered floral motif, accented with further tooled decoration.
The upper plateau of the cover is ornamented with an impressive collet set carnelian panel to the centre.
The hinged cover opens to allow access to the original, hinged pierced decorated grille.
Condition
This 19th century antique gold vinaigrette is an exceptional gauge of gold, exceptional quality and in exceptional condition.
There are no hallmarks as to be expected with such a piece; the date and origin can be determined by the composition and decoration.
